MHA Admiral Nurse (Dementia Specialist Nurse) – MHA Care Homes (Methodist Homes) for the North Region

North Region - Leeds; Manchester; Midlands; Birmingham

Salary £68,000 plus car allowance

37.5 hours per week

In collaboration with Dementia UK, MHA are looking to recruit an exceptional, registered nurse with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship-centred dementia care to join our team as an Admiral Nurse (Dementia Specialist Nurse).

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support people with dementia and their families. As an Admiral Nurse in MHA, you will work as part of MHA’s Quality Improvement Team to shape, influence and evaluate relationship-centred dementia care across MHA’s care services.

Working across our North region you will consult on evidenced based dementia care within appropriate work streams to improve the experience of care for people living with dementia, and their families across the organisation. You will provide colleagues with expert one-to-one support, guidance, and practical solutions for families, alongside supporting best practice and providing role modelling within MHA.

You will be employed by MHA, working under the direct management of the Head of Quality Improvement, and will receive ongoing support from Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care. You will also become part of the wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post graduate courses and develop professionally.

The successful applicant will be an NMC registered (adult/mental health/learning disability) nurse, with extensive and expert post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and supporting their carers/supporters in different settings, including social care, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.
