Development and wellbeing

Our commitment to your wellbeing

Our Colleague Wellbeing Strategy is how we put our values into action. Developed by our dedicated Wellbeing Network – made up of colleagues from right across MHA – it reflects what matters most to you.

The strategy is built around feedback from our teams and focuses on making wellbeing visible, accessible and woven into everything we do.

We’ve made three key commitments:

  • Build confidence: We will help our people develop the skills and knowledge to support their own wellbeing – and each other’s.
  • Raise awareness: We will make sure everyone knows about the wellbeing support available across MHA.
  • Embed wellbeing: We will weave wellbeing into policies, processes and everyday life across the organisation.

Because wellbeing is not something extra – it is something essential.

Wellbeing support that works for you

Everyone’s needs are different, which is why we offer a wide range of wellbeing resources – whether you need a moment to talk, a little breathing space or help through something tougher.

You will have access to:
  • A free, confidential Employee Assistance Programme for colleagues and volunteers
  • Chaplaincy support when you need someone to talk to
  • A hardship and welfare fund for support when life gets difficult
  • A supportive environment where people genuinely look out for one another
  • A library of wellbeing tools and resources available all year round
  • The opportunity to join our Wellbeing Network and help shape the future of colleague wellbeing
When you thrive, the people you care for thrive too – and we are here to help make that happen.

Supporting your development

From your first day with us, you’ll be supported to grow.

Whether you are developing confidence in a new role or building a long-term career, we will be with you every step of the way.

You’ll have access to:

A culture that lifts each other up

We are proud to be part of a workplace where people are celebrated for who they are – not just what they do.

Our culture is built on:

  • Kindness and respect: in how we speak, listen and support one another
  • Inclusion and belonging: so everyone feels safe and free to be themselves
  • Celebrating growth: because every step forward matters
  • Openness and honesty: so we can learn and improve together

This is a place where people feel part of something. And that something matters.
