About the role
We are looking for a reliable and caring Housekeeper to join our team at MHA. This is an important role, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment where residents feel comfortable, respected and at home.
As a Housekeeper, you will play a key part in supporting residents’ wellbeing by maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, while always respecting dignity, privacy and individual needs.
What you will do
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the home.
- Clean residents’ rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, kitchens and other designated areas using appropriate methods and equipment.
- Ensure the home remains comfortable, tidy and odour-free at all times.
- Assist with laundry tasks, including bedding where required.
- Safely use, store and control cleaning materials in line with COSHH and health & safety requirements.
- Monitor cleaning equipment and report faults or arrange repairs as required.
- Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
- Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice at all times.
- Attend training, staff meetings, supervisions and appraisals as required.
About you
We are looking for someone who is dependable, organised and takes pride in their work.
You will bring:
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (essential).
- Training in health and safety (essential).
- Good communication and listening skills.
- The ability to follow cleaning routines and work independently when required.
- Sensitivity to the needs of older people.
- A flexible approach to work, including covering on-call or emergency situations when needed.
- A QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
