Salary: £12.90 per hour (£13.77 per hour from 1st April)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable and caring Housekeeper to join our team at MHA. This is an important role, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment where residents feel comfortable, respected and at home.

As a Housekeeper, you will play a key part in supporting residents’ wellbeing by maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, while always respecting dignity, privacy and individual needs.

What you will do

  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the home.
  • Clean residents’ rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, kitchens and other designated areas using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Ensure the home remains comfortable, tidy and odour-free at all times.
  • Assist with laundry tasks, including bedding where required.
  • Safely use, store and control cleaning materials in line with COSHH and health & safety requirements.
  • Monitor cleaning equipment and report faults or arrange repairs as required.
  • Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
  • Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice at all times.
  • Attend training, staff meetings, supervisions and appraisals as required.

About you

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organised and takes pride in their work.

You will bring:

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (essential).
  • Training in health and safety (essential).
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • The ability to follow cleaning routines and work independently when required.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of older people.
  • A flexible approach to work, including covering on-call or emergency situations when needed.
  • A QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
