Director of Property & Estate Management

Hybrid Working | Circa £140,000 + £9,000 Car Allowance

Help shape the places where people live later life well

You want to make a difference through your leadership. And you're looking for a role where your expertise can have a lasting impact on people's lives. At MHA, our care homes, retirement living communities and workplaces are much more than buildings. They are places where friendships are formed, communities thrive and older people can live later life well.

We're looking for an exceptional Director of Property & Estate Management to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of our national estate. This is an opportunity to lead one of the UK's largest charitable property portfolios, ensuring our environments remain safe, welcoming, sustainable and fit for the future.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll lead the strategy, stewardship and development of MHA's property portfolio across England and Wales. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our homes, communities and workplaces continue to support outstanding experiences for residents, members, colleagues and visitors. From estate operations and facilities management to capital investment, sustainability and major development projects, you'll help ensure our estate is ready to meet the changing needs and aspirations of older people for years to come.

You'll also play a key role in delivering our organisational strategy, helping us create places that support independence, wellbeing and community, while ensuring long-term value and sustainability for the charity.

Location and ways of working

Based at MHA's Central Support office, Epworth House in Derby, this role offers a flexible approach to hybrid working. While much of the role can be delivered flexibly, we anticipate the successful candidate spending around one to three days each week on site, depending on meetings and organisational priorities. As a member of our Executive Leadership Team, you'll be a visible leader across MHA.

Regular in person attendance at Executive Leadership Team meetings, Senior Leadership Team meetings, key team events, Board Committee meetings and occasionally Board meetings will be important, helping you build strong relationships, stay connected to colleagues and contribute to the collaborative culture that underpins everything we do.

The role also involves regular travel across England and Wales to visit our care homes, retirement living communities and other locations. We believe that spending time in our services and meeting colleagues is essential to understanding local priorities, building strong relationships and ensuring our estate continues to support people to live later life well.
