Charitable Giving Administrator (Maternity Cover) based in Derby

Fixed Term Contract – Full Time – 37 hours per week

Salary: £26,312 per annum

Hybrid working available – minimum 3 days in office

Are you an organised and compassionate administrator who enjoys building relationships and making a difference? MHA is looking for a Charitable Giving Administrator to join our Charitable Giving and Impact team on a maternity cover contract, providing essential support to our fundraising activities and ensuring our supporters receive an excellent experience.

 This role plays an important part in supporting MHA’s Charitable Giving team across legacies, individual giving, philanthropy, and trusts and foundations. You will provide efficient administration support, manage supporter enquiries, process donations, maintain accurate records, and help deliver positive supporter journeys.

You will work closely with colleagues across MHA and build effective relationships with individual supporters and organisations who support our work. This is a varied role where you will use your organisational skills, attention to detail and customer service experience to support the smooth running of our charitable giving activities.

You will be joining a friendly and collaborative team where your contribution will help us continue to engage, inspire and support our generous supporters.

What you will be doing

  • Responding to supporter enquiries by telephone, email and post, providing excellent and sensitive supporter care.
  • Managing team inboxes and ensuring enquiries are responded to within agreed service levels.
  • Processing donations, maintaining accurate records and supporting banking and reconciliation activities.
  • Producing supporter acknowledgements and communications to provide a positive supporter experience.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and documentation in line with GDPR and organisational standards.
  • Supporting fundraising campaigns, appeals and activities.
  • Collating information and supporting the preparation of reports.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Charitable Giving and the wider organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working in an administrative role with strong organisational skills.
  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using databases or CRM systems would be desirable.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience handling confidential information and understanding GDPR requirements.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • An interest in charitable giving, fundraising or supporting charitable causes.
