About the role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Nurse to join our team as Deputy Home Manager at MHA. This is a senior leadership role where you will support the Home Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring clinical excellence, safety and compliance.
As Deputy Home Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership, manage and develop teams, and take full responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager. You will work closely with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals to promote wellbeing, dignity and quality of life.
What you will do
- Support the Home Manager in all aspects of the home’s management, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Take full charge of the home in the absence of the Home Manager, providing confident and visible leadership.
- Lead, manage and supervise care and ancillary staff, including inductions, supervisions, appraisals and performance management.
- Work “on the floor” alongside colleagues, offering clinical leadership, guidance and support.
- Safely and effectively lead and manage nursing care, ensuring appropriate prioritisation, delegation and oversight.
- Support high-quality care planning, reviews and quality assurance, particularly for residents living with dementia or complex needs.
- Promote residents’ dignity, choice, independence and involvement in decision-making.
- Oversee safe and effective medicines management, including ordering, stock control and administration.
- Support recruitment, training and development of staff and promote continuous improvement across the home.
About you
We are looking for a confident, organised and caring professional with strong leadership and clinical skills.
You will bring:
- Registered Nurse qualification (1st level) with a current NMC PIN.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this.
- Experience working in a care-related setting, with previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong clinical knowledge, including best practice in dementia care.
- The ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
