Job role

Head of MHA Communities (Hybrid Working) based in Derby

Salary: £83,460.00 (Per annum pro-rata)

Hours: 37 hours per week

MHA’s ambition is simple: to help people live later life well. Our community services are a vital part of making that happen.

Across England, MHA Communities brings people together through befriending, groups, clubs, classes, activities and locally designed services that help people remain active, engaged and connected to the communities around them.

We’re looking for an ambitious and inspiring Head of MHA Communities to lead this important part of MHA and shape what comes next.

You’ll lead our regional management team and a geographically dispersed network of services, creating an empowering, accountable culture in which colleagues and volunteers can thrive. You’ll ensure our services are safe, high quality, person-centred and – crucially – sustainable for the future.

But this isn’t simply an operational leadership role. We want someone who can look outward as well as inward: building strong
relationships with local authorities, commissioners, health partners, funders and other organisations; developing compelling propositions and business plans; identifying new opportunities; and helping us find new and innovative ways to reach and support more older people.

You’ll need experience of leading complex, multi-site services, strong financial and commercial awareness and the confidence to lead through change. Just as importantly, you’ll be an engaging, collaborative and resilient leader who can bring people with you.

As a member of MHA’s Senior Leadership Team, you’ll also contribute to the wider direction of MHA, giving you the opportunity to influence strategy across an organisation supporting people in later life throughout England and Wales.

MHA Communities has a proud history, an extraordinary network of people and enormous potential. We’re looking for someone who can build on those foundations and lead its next chapter.

Please note that interviews may take place prior to the closing date, and if a suitable candidate is appointed, the role may close early.

Recruitment agencies:  please note, MHA do not accept unsolicited CVs from recruitment agencies, regardless of whether they are on our Preferred Supplier List (PSL). We only accept CVs from agencies that have been appointed and briefed by MHA’s Recruitment Team.

MHA are fully committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as this is embedded in our values: respect, nurture and inspire.  In addition, as a committed employer, we have been awarded level 2 under the Disability Confident Scheme. Click here  to read more about this.
